Borderland Construction, under contract with Pima County Regional Wastewater Reclamation Department, has begun construction to install the new dual 24-inch pipe from the Continental Ranch Regional Pump Station (CRRPS). Ultimately it will tie-in to the completed segment south of the Crossroads at Silverbell District Park between Cortaro and Ina roads.

The contractor has completed the installation of pipe from the El Rio Neighborhood Park south to Twin Peaks Road. Construction of the new asphalt pathway for the Chuck Huckelberry Loop has also been completed, and this portion of the Loop pathway has been re-open to the public.

The Loop pathway north of Twin Peaks Road will be accessible from both east and westbound Twin Peaks Road.
The Loop pathway, south of Twin Peaks Road to Wade McLean Park, will remain closed through Fall 2023.

Additionally, a landscaping plan is currently being designed, and will include planting clusters of native trees and shrubs along portions of the new pathway. Check the website for updated landscaping information.

When complete, the project will provide seven miles of a new dual force main sewer system between the Continental Ranch Regional Pump Station (CRRPS), and the Tres Ríos Water Reclamation Facility (WRF). The Loop travelers will also enjoy a newly paved pathway that will be installed from just south of the El Rio Neighborhood Park area to Cortaro Road.
