This Week is Drinking Water Week

Water is our most valuable natural resource, and only tap water delivers public health protection, fire protection, support for our economy, and the quality of life we enjoy. Any measure of a successful society – low mortality rates, economic growth and diversity, productivity, and public safety – are in some way related to access to safe water, we are all stewards of the water infrastructure upon which future generations depend.

Marana Water provides public drinking water to a range of places, including schools, parks, local businesses, places of worship, healthcare facilities, and customer’s homes. Each citizen of the Town is called upon to help protect our source waters from pollution, to practice water conservation, and to get involved in local water issues by getting to know their water.

The week of May 3rd through May 9th, 2020, has been proclaimed by the Mayor and Council of the Town of Marana to be Drinking Water Week. All citizens and civic organizations of Marana are called upon to familiarize themselves with the facets involved surrounding this precious resource, including providing safe, reliable drinking water, and to recognize the contributions that all water professionals make to maintain the water systems required to sustain the comfort, health, and well-being of our community.
