RESOURCES FOR VICTIMS
Arizona law (ARS §13-4438) provides that if you are the victim of a crime with a case pending before this court, you have rights to justice and due process that, among others, include the right to be treated with fairness, respect and dignity, to a speedy trial and a prompt and final conclusion of the case, to be present at court proceedings, to choose whether or not to be interviewed by the defendant or the defendant's attorney, to be heard before the court makes a decision on release, negotiation of a plea, scheduling and sentencing and to receive restitution from a person who is convicted of causing your loss. If you have not already been provided with a written statement of all victims' rights, please contact the victim services division of the prosecutor's office.

If you are a victim in a criminal case and you are calling in for a hearing please call (520) 382-2700. For information on how to appear via ZOOM, please contact the Prosecutor’s Office or the Court.
Click here to file a petition for a protective order, protective orders can be filed in any court in Arizona. In a criminal case, the Judge can only hear the facts of the case when both sides are present. If you are the victim of a criminal case in Marana and the grounds for your request for a protective order relate to the case in which you are a victim, you may be referred to another court to file your protective order petition so the judge does not violate this rule.
