Town of Marana will be performing roadwork starting Wednesday, August 17 through August 19 on Avra Valley Road between Airline Road to Sanders Road. Expect lane shifts and traffic delays.

A soft opening for the Twin Peaks Road and Sandario Road Roundabout is scheduled for the week of August 1st with minor construction and temporary lighting until light poles arrive around August 15th.

Reconstructive road work begins Monday, July 11, 2022, in the 8400 block of North Douglas Fir and North Mountain Stone Pine Way, weather permitting.

Motorists should prepare for a traffic flow change at the North Silverbell Road and Ina Road intersection beginning Tuesday, July 5, at 9 a.m. Traffic will be moved from the west side of Silverbell Road to the newly constructed east side of Silverbell Road. Please travel cautiously through the area.

Motorists on I-10 and Cortaro Road in Marana should expect overnight ramp and road closures for guardrail work Thursday, June 23. The eastbound I-10 exit ramp to Cortaro Road and eastbound Cortaro Road at I-10 will be closed from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. the following morning.

D. R. Horton will be closing Sanders Road and Grier Road to excavate the lower water line, install a Cortaro-Marana Irrigation District (CMID) pipe across Grier Road, and install balance of CMID pipe and prep roadway and pave. Follow detour signs to Barnett Road.

Motorists on eastbound Interstate 10 in Marana should expect intermittent overnight ramp closures starting the night of Tuesday, June 14, while crews pave sections of the interstate adjacent to the ramps.

Camino de Oeste from Rain Cloud North to Moore Road will be temporarily closed. Please use Dove Mountain or Thornydale Road for alternate routes. Moore Road will be flagged when necessary.

Motorists on westbound Interstate 10 at Twin Peaks Road in Marana should expect intermittent overnight ramp closures the nights of Thursday, May 19, and Sunday, May 22, while crews pave sections of the interstate adjacent to the ramps.

The Town of Marana is installing “Spirit of Marana”, a public art piece featuring a cowboy driving a steer while on horseback that will welcome visitors to downtown Marana.

The Town of Marana is proposing new travel improvements to the Twin Peaks Road and Sandario Road intersection that would result in a new traffic circle.

Valgrind Lane will be closed at the intersection of Valhalla Drive starting May 11, 2022, at 7 a.m. Work is expected to take 5-10 working days.

Bicyclists and other path users using the Santa Cruz River path (The Loop) at Ina Road are advised that they will need to follow a detour to avoid construction activities.

Construction operations will restrict the width of the travel lane and will close the roundabout for large commercial vehicles. A regional truck detour will be marked to direct commercial traffic from the interstate to the frontage road using Grier Road to complete the detour to Sandario Road. Commercial vehicles can still deliver to businesses north of the roundabout.

Due to major road construction on Ina Road west of the Santa Cruz bridge, it is recommended that all foot and bicycle traffic avoid traveling on top of the Ina Road bridge. Please use the passage under the bridge, as it is clear and free of construction.
